2020
- January
- January 15-February 6: Mike flew to Sitka to return F/V Harmony Isle back to our home port in Auke Bay. Nice adventure to take the boat through Peril Strait in the winter wonderland.
- Starter maintenance project with a new pinion gear from Gardner.
- Heading back to Auke Bay.
- Auke Bay docks in the snow.
- June and July Fishing Season
- Mike and Karen ventured out amid the pandemic to journey from Wisconsin to Juneau for the 2020 King Salmon fishing season.
- The pandemic rules at that time required that we get COVID-19 tests prior to flying, and that we provide our negative test results to the Alaska Department of Public Health upon arrival in Juneau.
- Once we arrived we were able to begin our 2020 fishing season. We were prepared with the required COVID-19 crew management plan and quarantine flag on board.
- We did the annual haul-out and maintenance in Hoonah.
- F/V Harmony Isle headed out west from Hoonah to South Inian Pass on June 26th to begin prospecting for King Salmon on the outer coast between Cape Spencer and Cape Cross.
- We had several beautiful days along the outer coast with evenings in the moorages of Porcupine, Takanis Bay and Pelican.
- July 1, 2020 King Salmon Opener!
- Fished off Cape Spencer west and south. Rough weather chased us inside to Inian pass to anchor for the evening in Earl Cove.
- Fished south to Cross Sound on the outside of Yakobi Island; rough and windy! Anchored in Takenis Bay along with the fleet. Beautiful calm moon rise.
- Fished off Cross Sound and headed south before returning inland to anchor in Lost Cove.
- Glazed fish on the way to Pelican; offloaded at Yakobi Fisheries.
- Headed back to Juneau after a succesful 2020 King Season.
