Easthope Gurdies

Easthope gurdies were rebuilt in April 2015 by Mark's Technical Services, Juneau, AK. After rebuild, the gurdies were moved from the deck to the sides of the hay rack to improve the ergonomics and work flow of processing fish brought on board.

Troll blocks (12) have been upgraded to Delrin sheaves (see below) with extra large bearings and hung with Spectra straps for longevity in marine use; extra spares included.

on the port and starboard sides of the hay rack frame.

The gurdies reel out and pull in 5/64" steel troll wire weighted with lead cannonalls that are stored on deck in rail-mounted cradles mounted dirctly below the gurdies on port and starboard sides of the boat. Troll wires are marked at 1.5 fathoms to monitor depth.
